SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (Full-time/Part-Time/PRN)

Now accepting resumes for full-time and PRN SLP’s to provide outpatient speech language pathology services to a diverse caseload at both our Bristol and Lebanon, VA locations. Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Eligible for Virginia State License in Speech Language Pathology.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. (Clinical Fellows also welcome to apply.)

  • Must maintain certification/licensure with appropriate continuing education, as require by granting Board.

  • Adherence to the Code of Ethics as defined by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA)

Skills Required:

  • Strong organization and communication skills.

  • Adherence to clinical and organizational protocols.

  • Must be proficient with computers and patient database software consistent with Electronic Medical Recordkeeping.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a wide range of patients, colleagues, referral sources, and vendors.

  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of patients.

  • Must be able to problem solve and manage the day-to-day operations of the clinic independently.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment and all paperwork related to patient care on caseload. This includes planning for each session; completing a treatment encounter note for each session; writing plans of care, progress reports, and discharge summaries as needed.

  • Perform diagnostic evaluations and complete written evaluation reports with results and recommendations in a timely manner.

  • Provide counseling to patients and families concerning speech and language issues.

  • Maintain speech and language materials and supplies in an orderly and accessible manner.

  • Submit all required billing information in a timely manner.

  • Develop and provide in-services and educational programs for local agencies as requested.

  • Other duties as requested.

PART-TIME AUDIOLOGIST

Requirements

  • Doctor of Audiology or Master's Degree in Audiology from an accredited program.

  • Eligible for Virginia State License in Audiology.

  • Eligible for Virginia Hearing Instrument Specialist Licensure.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from ASHA.

  • Must maintain certification/licensure with appropriate continuing education, as require by granting Board.

  • Adherence to the Code of Ethics as defined by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA).

 

Skills Required

  • Strong organization and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in hearing aid dispensing to include digitally programmable hearing aids of major manufacturers.

  • Follow clinic and organizational protocols and be coachable in regards to business strategies.

  • Must be proficient with computers and patient database software consistent with Electronic Medical Recordkeeping and programming software.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a wide range of patients, colleagues, referral sources, and vendors.

  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of patients.

  • Must be able to problem solve and manage the day-to-day operations of the clinic independently.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide hearing evaluations, counseling and patient care for a variety of age ranges.

  • Follow standards for differential diagnosis of the peripheral hearing and auditory function. Select and administer the educational audiology test battery most appropriate for the patient’s age, developmental level and cognitive function.

  • Perform specialized audiological tests, including acoustic immittance, otoaccoustic emissions, hearing aid evaluations, and auditory processing evaluations, education audiology services, industrial screening, and cochlear implant services.

  • Prepare written diagnostic reports for the referring physician, school, and/or referring agency on a timely basis.

  • Maintain all clinical records and charts as specified by policies and procedures of the organization.

  • Dispense hearing aids and accessories including batteries, special products, assistive listening devices or any other product available through practice.

  • Support clinical operations by conducting quality control analysis of incoming hearing aids and maintenance of test areas, equipment, and supplies.

  • Assist in evaluation of departmental procedures, including patient care delivery, technologies and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives including HI PM compliance.

  • Participate in community outreach and marketing and in the development of best practice diagnostic and rehabilitative policies and procedures.

  • Maintain relationships with hearing aid manufacturer representatives insuring optimum pricing, ongoing product updates, and continuing education opportunities.
